PRAYER FOR ST. MARTIN’S CHURCH

God of power and might, make us fighters for freedom, justice and peace,

like soldier Martin, knowing always our strength is in you. 

God of protection, give us the shield of Martin, so that in the battle of life,

we defend the weak and powerless of our world. 

God of hope and security, wrap us in the cloak of charitable Martin, so

that we can share your compassion with others. 

God of wisdom and understanding, give us the staff

of Bishop Martin, to guide us in the pathways of life,

so that we too become examples of your teaching. 

God of love, let us contemplate your goodness always, so that with the

humility of Martin, we reflect your love, to the depth of our being. 

God of St. Martin and all the saints, let this church of sisters and

brothers in Christ, become a beacon of hope, to light the path to your door. 

God of forgiveness and mercy encourage us,

when in our humanity, in this we fail.
